The Gospel clarified

We are not saved by works or man made rules or by our self-effort. If so, we wouldn’t need the Savior. The Gospel is, we are saved by grace through faith in Christ alone, who lived the life we could never live, died the death we deserved to die, and rose from the grave giving us something we could never earn; forgiveness, a new heart, and peace with God!

So, if I go to heaven it’s not because I’m a good person or was “religious “ it will be because I’m a bad person saved and forgiven by a very good God who gave His only Son on my behalf so that I can be set free from all my sins and granted the gift of everlasting life! That’s the good news of the Gospel!

And it can be true for you this day if you turn from your sins, and place your trust in Jesus now. Because you may not have tomorrow. Like the post says, salvation isn’t by works, it’s through the mercy of God His Son who didn’t come to condemn us but to make us a friend of God!
